Collection: Root Chakra

The Root Chakra.

Known in Sanskrit as Muladhara, the root support.

The 1st energy center. Located at the base of the spine.

Muladhara governs your most fundamental relationship with the earth, with safety, with the body, and with the basic conditions of physical life. When it is grounded and open, you feel safe, embodied, and capable of meeting life with steadiness and courage.

In the Tantric tradition of the Sat-Chakra-Nirupana, Muladhara is depicted as a four-petaled lotus. Each petal a doorway into one of the four aspects of consciousness that root us in the body and the earth.

Seed Syllable: LAM
Chanted to activate and ground the root. To call the energy of the earth element into the body and anchor the spirit in the present moment.

Color: Red
The deep, vital red of iron-rich soil and the blood that moves through the body. The color of life force anchored in matter.

Mantra: Om Muladharaya Namah
An offering of reverence to the root, to the earth, and to the body as sacred ground.

Mudra: Prithvi Mudra
The tip of the ring finger brought to meet the tip of the thumb. The earth gesture, drawing the stabilizing, nourishing energy of the earth element into the entire system.

Tarot: The Emperor (IV)
The archetype of structure, stability, and the sovereign self grounded in the physical world. Paul Foster Case connected The Emperor to the will that builds something lasting from the raw material of life.

Planet: Saturn
The great teacher. The lord of time, form, and the slow, patient work of building something that lasts. Saturn governs the bones, the structure of the body, and the deep, enduring relationship between the soul and the earth it has chosen to inhabit.

Element: Earth
Prithvi in Sanskrit. Ge in ancient Greek. The dense, nourishing, stabilizing element that holds all living things in its embrace and asks only that we trust the ground beneath our feet.

Zodiac: Capricorn & Aries
Capricorn, the sea-goat. The patient, enduring climb toward mastery and the deep, structural wisdom of the earth.
Aries, the ram. The primal, initiating life force that rises from the ground and moves forward without hesitation.

Frequency: 396 Hz
The Solfeggio frequency of liberation. For releasing guilt, fear, and the deep unconscious patterns that keep the root contracted and the body braced against life. Restoring the natural, open frequency of Muladhara.

Signature Stones

Red Jasper. The steady, nurturing strength of the earth. Deep, grounding vitality for the body at home in itself.

Black Tourmaline. Protection and the grounding frequency of the base. The stone that stands at the threshold and keeps the energy field clear and strong.

Smoky Quartz. The gentle, transmuting power that clears what is heavy and anchors what is light. Drawing the energy of the cosmos down into the body and the earth.

Stones of the root chakra are typically deep red, black, or earthy brown. They carry the dense, stabilizing frequency of the earth element itself.

You are safe. You are held. You belong to the earth, and the earth belongs to you.
